SPRINGFIELD, Vt. — Springfield Hospital is no longer welcoming visitors under most circumstances, according to its Facebook page.

Monday’s post only said the restrictions are necessary for the “health and safety of our patients and staff,” but it comes as COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations are rising in the Twin States.

Exceptions to Springfield’s no-visitor rule include: Patients receiving end-of-life care and patients under 18, each of which are allowed two visitors. For pediatric patients, the visitors must be parents or guardians.

Patients with outpatient clinic appointments are allowed one vaccinated support person who will be asked to show proof of vaccination.

But, outpatient surgery and endoscopy patients are not allowed to have visitors waiting inside the hospital.
