Hanover High School senior Elizabeth Chambers came in second place in the Granite State National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) Student Auditions competition’s Upper High School level this fall. Chambers takes voice lessons from Julie Ness, a performer and voice instructor at the Upper Valley Music Center in Lebanon.
Thetford Academy robotics team String Theory — which includes Connor Kutter-Walker and Duncan MacPhee — took first place during a robotics tournament hosted at the school last month.
Four Thetford Academy teams placed in the top five in the tournament, which was the first Thetford Academy had hosted in a decade, according to a news release from the school.
The competition featured 32 middle and high school teams from the Twin States.
James Bromwell, of New London, earned a doctor of chiropractic degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic’s main campus in Davenport, Iowa, this fall.
Elizabeth Peck, of Hartford, earned a bachelor’s degree in environmental law enforcement from Unity Environmental University in New Gloucester, Maine, this fall.
Erica Thompson has been been honored with the 2024 Vermont Outstanding Educator Award by Orange East Supervisory Union and the University of Vermont College of Education and Social Services, according to a news release from the school district. Thompson is a first grade teacher at Waits River Valley School in East Corinth. Neil Emerson, a high school social studies teacher at Blue Mountain Union School in Wells River, Vt., was also honored with the same award.
