CLAREMONT — The Route 12A bridge over the Sugar River in West Claremont will be closed to all traffic on Friday, Sept. 27 in order for the concrete deck on the northbound lane to be poured.

A traffic detour will be posted from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The $5.7 million rehabilitation project of the 275-foot bridge includes replacing the structural steel plate girders and bridge deck, road work, substructure repairs and measures to protect the bridge's piers and abutments.

Completion is scheduled for September 2025. Built in 1967, the bridge was last rehabilitated in 1991.
