Rivendell towns to decide format of annual budget vote

ORFORD — The Rivendell Interstate School District will hold a hearing on Tuesday on a proposal to change in the format of the annual school budget vote from floor voting to paper ballot.

Voters will decide whether to adopt the proposal at the school district’s annual meeting March.

If adopted, polls would be open from 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Budget ballots cast by the voters in the districts four towns of Fairlee, Orford, Vershire and West Fairlee would be commingled rather than counted according to the town in which a voter resides.

The hearing will take place at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 3, in Rivendell Academy’s multipurpose room. Remote attendance is available via Zoom.
