Price Chopper recalls some American cheese

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. — Price Chopper and Market 32 Supermarkets have issued a voluntary manufacturer recall from Great Lakes Cheese for some white and yellow American cheese because of “the possible presence of small metal foreign matter on the surface,” the supermarket chain said in a news release.

The cheeses were sold in the deli department under the Market 32 label and was sold as fresh sliced to order, pre-sliced grab ’n go and “cheese ends,” the company said.

The cheeses had the universal product codes of 27667500000, 2258910000, 2258900000, 22590400000, 22591400000, 27667400000, 22597500000 and 22597600000.

The cheeses may also have been sold along with sandwiches, hamburgers and some breakfast meals, the company said.

Price Chopper/Market 32 said all of the food that might have been affected has been removed from its stores. Customers can return their product to local stores for a full refund.
