LEBANON – The Lebanon American Legion Post 22 senior baseball team rallied for a 4-3 victory over Manchester’s Sweeney Post 2 on Friday at Lebanon High School’s Doug Ashey Field.

Trailing, 1-0, midway through the fifth inning, Lebanon began its comeback when Bennett Hewett led off with a single. Zach Aldrich laid down a bunt that the third baseman threw away, allowing Hewett to score. Aldrich later scored on a passed ball to put the hosts ahead to stay.

Post 22 scored its last two runs during the sixth inning. Nick Brill led off with a single and stole second base. Dom Nutting reached on an infield error, putting runners on second and third. Brill scored on a Hewett groundout, and Nutting crossed the plate after a Wyatt Daigle double.

Sweeney (5-5) scored twice during the seventh inning and had the tying run on third base with two out. However, Daigle induced a pop-up and Lebanon (6-3) recorded the game’s final out.

Aldrich pitched 6 ⅓ innings for Post 22, allowing five hits and two runs, one of them earned. He struck out five batters and walked one. Brill had two hits and Daigle had a hit and an RBI for Lebanon, which was scheduled to visit Laconia Post 1 (4-4) on Saturday.
