Articles of note: One article asks whether voters would like to re-appropriate $88,000 of the general fund balance to reduce taxes.

Contested races: Emily Grube and Frank Perron Jr. are vying for a two-year term on the Selectboard. John Peters Jr. is running unopposed for a three-year seat on the board.

Budgets and spending articles: The proposed budget is $1.93 million, including $540,000 for the general fund and $1.39 million for highways, of which $1.36 million will be raised by taxes. The budget is up from $1.8 million last year.

When, where and how to vote: An informational hearing is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 22, at 9 a.m. at Pomfret Town Hall, 5233 Pomfret Road.

Australian ballot voting will take place on Tuesday, March 4, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the town offices, 5218 Pomfret Road.
