LEBANON — Five people were taken to the hospital for minor injuries following a multiple-car crash on Route 12A on Tuesday morning, according to Lebanon police.

Officers were called to the intersection of Route 12A and the off-ramp of Interstate 89 around 11:20 a.m. Tuesday after three cars were involved in a crash, according to Lebanon Police Chief Richard Mello.

He said James Leclair, 35, of Hanover, was driving his Toyota SUV off the northbound exit of I-89 onto Route 12A when he was hit by Tellurian Surles, 20, of Peacham, Vt. Surles, who was driving a Subaru Forester northbound on Route 12A, went through a red light at the intersection, hitting the front of Leclair’s car, Mello said.

Brittany Porcaro, 27 of Grantham, was driving a sedan behind Leclair and hit the back of his car following the initial crash, Mello said.

Leclair and Porcaro were uninjured in the crash but Surles and four other people who were in his car were taken to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center for minor injuries, Mello said in an email.

He said that police plan to charge Tellurian with running a red light.
