EPA to host meeting about Pike Hill mine cleanup in Corinth

CORINTH — The Environmental Protection Agency is set to host an informational meeting on Tuesday to update the public on the status of the Pike Hill mine cleanup.

Preparations for the federally-funded cleanup of the former copper mine, which is listed among the most hazardous polluted sites in the country, began this fall. 

Officials will share a summary of investigations of the site so far, as well as the design status for further cleanup. They will also introduce the wildlife experts who will be studying the bat population at the mine through the summer. 

The meeting will be Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. in the Corinth Town Office, at 1387 Cookeville Road.
