Town Meeting preview: Piermont

Article of note: One article on the town warrant asks whether voters support moving from a salary to an hourly wage for the town clerk and to authorize the Selectboard to set the wage.

Contested races: There are no contested Selectboard or School Board races.

Budgets and spending articles: The proposed town operating budget is $1.19 million, roughly equal to last year’s budget of $1.2 million. A separate article asks for $68,000 to pave and shoulder a section of Lily Pond Road. The proposed school budget is $2.67 million, which is down slightly from $2.8 million last year.

When, where and how to vote: Ballot voting will take place on Tuesday, March 12 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. in the Old Church Building, 131 Route 10. Town Meeting will take place on Saturday, March 16 at 10 a.m. at the Piermont Village School, 131 Route 10. The school meeting will take place on Tuesday, March 19 at 7 p.m. at the school.
