RANDOLPH — A 91-year-old man died after being hit by a motor vehicle in Randolph, police reported.

Police officers and the White River Ambulance responded to a report of a “motor vehicle vs. pedestrian” on Salisbury Street in Randolph at about 1:30 p.m. last Friday afternoon, according to a Friday police news release.

Officers “attempted to provide life saving techniques” to the pedestrian, Clifford Carr, of Brookfield, Vt. He was transported by ambulance to Gifford Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.

The driver, a 68-year-old Randolph man, “remained on scene and was cooperative with the investigation,” according to an update released Tuesday.

The accident remains under investigation.
