Parkhurst Community HousingOpens in LebanonLebanon — Twin Pines Housing and the Upper Valley Haven celebrated the completion of Parkhurst Community Housing with a ribbon cutting earlier this month.
The 18-unit apartment building will provide permanent, supportive housing to people who are chronically homeless or extremely low-income, meeting a need for the Upper Valley community.
“We are impressed with Lebanon’s response to a crisis with a solution and are proud to partner with Twin Pines Housing in this endeavor,” Sara Kobylenski, executive director for the Upper Valley Haven, said in a news release. “Integrating resources across organizations is at the highest level of collaborative community work.”
The project was made possible with approximately $2.7 million funding from the National Housing Trust Fund, the New Hampshire Housing Finance Authority, Community Loan Fund and several private funders.
“Parkhurst is the result of the community coming together to provide a solution,” said Andrew Winter, executive director of Twin Pines Housing. “From the work of the Housing First Committee and early financial contributions by local donors, to the help of local landlords in identifying a suitable property, to the support of Lebanon town officials, this project has come to fruition.”
Finishing touches are currently being put on the building and Twin Pines Housing expects that residents will move in in mid- to late-July. Cover Home Repair is organizing volunteers to paint the interior of the building later this month.
