West Lebanon — Calling all jigsaw puzzle enthusiasts! A new club starting up tonight is the perfect place for you to find new puzzles and talk shop with other puzzlers.

From 7 to 8 p.m. tonight at the Kilton Public Library in West Lebanon, visitors can stop by the Upper Valley Jigsaw Puzzle Exchange to talk about their hobby.

“I love doing puzzles and I’m looking for like-minded people,” said Lisa Green, a Lebanon resident who founded the puzzle exchange.

Sometimes, new puzzles can be expensive. By trading, hobbyists can get a new puzzles for no cost.

“It’s just a great way for us to continue doing what we love,” Green said.

Green has always enjoyed doing puzzles, a pursuit she has passed onto her children. She estimates that she does about 20 1,000-piece puzzles a year.

“Once in awhile I’ll do a 750. Anything less than that is too easy,” Green said.

Her favorite kind of puzzles are holiday-themed. “But any kind as long as it’s beautiful,” she said.

When she really wants to challenge herself, she’ll take on a puzzle that has only a couple colors in it: “Boy those are hard.”

Green’s gotten so serious about puzzling that she invested in a puzzle stand with a felt mat that can easily be moved from tabletop to tabletop, “and still have enough room in your house to have dinner,” she said.

While Green would like the Upper Valley Jigsaw Puzzle Exchange to be a group that meets regularly, where it goes will depend on how much interest there is.

“It’s a great way to find another source, a free source, of getting more puzzles. And your helping someone in the process, so everyone wins,” Green said. “I think puzzling is lots of fun and very good for kids as well as adults.”
