White River Junction — Susan Cameron Bennett might not be a household name.

But her voice is known around the world as the digital assistant Siri.

At 6 p.m. on July 20 at the Engine Room in White River Junction, Bennett will discuss her experiences as a fundraiser for the Hartford Historical Society. The $50 tickets include hors d’oeuvres and dessert, and a cash bar will be available.

Bennett has a local connection through Judy Barwood, an officer at the Hartford Historical Society. The two are first cousins.

“We were just together a lot growing up,” Barwood said, adding that the two spent a lot of time together at their grandmother’s house in White River Junction. “She’s a very exciting, fun cousin.”

Bennett was born in Burlington and studied music and acting at Brown University. She performed as a backup singer for Burt Bacharach and Roy Orbison. She also sang jingles and then started voice acting. Her voice has appeared in commercials for McDonald’s, Macy’s, Goodyear and others. In addition to voicing Siri, she is also the voice of Delta Airlines.

Bennett and her husband, guitarist Rick Hinkle, live in Atlanta, Ga., and regularly perform together. Hinkle will be accompanying Bennett on guitar during the White River Junction event.
