UPDATE: New Hampshire Man Killed in I-91 Crash in Ascutney

Weathersfield — A New Hampshire man was killed in a single-vehicle crash at about 3 p.m. on Interstate 91 in Ascutney on Tuesday.

Matthew J. Calder, 31, of Winchester, N.H., died when his southbound Nissan Altima left the travel lane, struck a guardrail near mile marker 47 and came to rest in the median among some trees, according to Vermont State Police.

Calder, who was not wearing his seatbelt, was transported to Mt. Ascutney Hospital, where he died from his injuries, according to police.

Interstate 91 southbound was down to one lane in an area just south of the Ascutney exit because of the crash but was reopened as of about 9 p.m., according to police.
