NORWICH — A portion of New Boston Road will be closed to through traffic from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. next Monday through Friday, according to town officials.

The Public Works Department will be replacing a number of culverts near the intersection with Turnpike Road. The work will continue north of Douglas Street.

A detour package will allow travelers to access New Boston Road at the intersection with Norford Lake Road, near New Boston Cemetery. This detour will direct traffic onto Union Village Road, then connecting to Route 132, Stowell Road, Norford Lake Road and finally New Boston.

This detour will be a delay of “at least 20 minutes” and will add 10 miles of travel to access Douglas Road from New Boston Road, town officials said.
