Article of note: A $37.39 million budget and four collective bargaining agreements are the main articles voters will decide on at the ballot at this year’s annual school district meeting.

Contested races: Nicholas Stone, Bonnie Miles and Penny Gallow are the candidates running for two three-year terms on the school board.

Budgets and spending articles: The proposed budget represents a decrease of 1%, or about $392,300, from the current year’s.

Also on the warrant will be four collective bargaining agreements for secretaries, paraprofessionals, maintenance and transportation employees, and administrators. The proposed budget and warrant articles carry a tax rate impact of 28 cents, or $42 more a year, in school taxes on a property assessed at $150,000.

When, where and how to vote: Voting on the Claremont School District warrant will be on Tuesday, March 8, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Residents in Wards I and II vote at the Claremont Middle School; residents in Ward III vote at Disnard Elementary School.
