Town Meeting: New London approves five zoning amendments

NEW LONDON — In ballot voting on Tuesday, voters approved five zoning amendments. 

The amendments included: a clarification of the sign regulations; allowing electric vehicle charging stations by special exemption in the commercial zone; allowing for the removal of invasive species from wetlands and shore lands; amendments to the workforce housing overlay district; and legalizing trails and conservation areas on private residential properties.

Voters elected Bebe Hammond Casey to a three-year term on the Selectboard in an uncontested race.

In a three-way race, Joanne Palmisano and Steven Solomon won two three-year terms as library trustees, beating out Thomas J. Carley.
