NEW LONDON — The New London park and ride off Interstate 89 at Exit 12 is slated for an expansion that would add 50 parking spots, according to a news release from the New Hampshire Department of Transportation.

In addition to adding spaces, the work includes repaving the existing parking lot, reconfiguring motorcycle parking and making safety upgrades for compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Work on the project is expected to begin on Jan. 23. When work begins, 27 spaces along the right side of the parking lot will be temporarily closed to allow for the installation of a safety barrier delineating the worksite.

The work is expected to be completed by the end of August 2023.
