NEW LONDON — New London Hospital has named the hospital’s interim CEO to the permanent post, following a national search, according to a Tuesday news release.

Dr. Lauren Geddes Wirth has been in the interim role since March.

She replaced former New London Hospital CEO Tom Manion, who left the the 25-bed hospital in April to become the chief operating officer at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center.

Like DHMC, New London Hospital, or NLH, is a member of the Dartmouth Health network. NLH offers a mix of emergency, primary care, surgery and rehab services to 15 communities in the Lake Sunapee region.

Geddes Wirth started working at New London Hospital as chief medical officer in September 2023. Her background is in pediatrics and she has held leadership positions at other hospitals, including serving as a medical director. Geddes Wirth is a Dartmouth College and Brown-Dartmouth Medical School graduate.
