SUNAPEE — An 18-year-old Northfield, N.H., man turned himself in to police last weekend after police issued a warrant for his arrest on reckless conduct charges related to his role in a late July rollover crash in Sunapee.

Mackaidan C. Decato turned himself in to the Sunapee Police Department on Aug. 10 after police had issued a warrant for his arrest the day before on a charge of reckless conduct with a deadly weapon, a Class B felony that carries a prison sentence of between one and seven years if convicted, according to a news release issued Monday by the Sunapee Police Department.

Police said Decato was the operator of a vehicle that rolled over onto its roof on Ryder Corner Road just before 10 p.m. on Friday, July 26. Sunapee Police and emergency services responded to the rollover and New London Ambulance transported two seriously injured patients to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center.

Decato was processed and released on bail. His arraignment is scheduled for Oct. 1 in Newport’s Fifth Circuit Court.
