WEST LEBANON — Mount Lebanon Elementary School’s principal has resigned his post.

In her weekly letter to families on Friday, Superintendent Joanne Roberts said that Gino LoRicco had resigned on Friday “due to unforeseen circumstances.”

In a letter to families, LoRicco, who has led the preschool-fourth grade school since 2019, said he was sad to leave.

“Working for your children and you for the past few years has been a great joy,” he said. “I appreciate all of the confidence that you gave me to lead this school.”

Roberts said LoRicco has left the school in a positive place and will be missed. School officials “will be making decisions in the next few weeks” about the future leadership of the school, she said.

Mount Lebanon’s school year started Sept. 1.
