WHITE RIVER JUNCTION — A missing Appalachian Trail hiker from Rhinebeck, N.Y., was last seen headed north from Killington on July 9, according to Vermont State Police.

Robert Kerker, 67, who goes by the trail name of “Steady Eddie,” was reported missing by his family on Monday, a police said in a news release this week.

He was last seen at the Inn at Long Trail in Killington on July 9, the day before widespread flooding hit the state. He was headed north, toward the Upper Valley, and had been checking in with his family weekly.

He is 5 feet, 10 inches tall and weighs 150 pounds, with short white hair and a beard.
