Lyme School Meeting Postponed to Saturday Due to Road Conditions

Thursday, March 08, 2018

Lyme — The annual Lyme School meeting has been postponed until Saturday morning because of bad weather and hazardous road conditions, according to School Moderator Bill Waste.

The meeting had originally been scheduled for this evening, but Lyme officials warned this morning that roads are in “very poor condition” and that dirt roads in particular are “very treacherous.”

Voters will now meet at 10 a.m. on Saturday at the Lyme School Community Room. Residents are encouraged to arrive a half hour early to be checked in, Waste said in an email.

Parking might also be difficult, he said, adding the school parking lot, Route 10 and the back of the Lyme Common should be cleared beforehand.

“We are sorry for the inconvenience, but the safety of everyone who wants to attend the meeting is our paramount concern,” Waste said.
