Louis P. Cote

West Lebanon, N.H. — Louis P. Cote of West Lebanon N.H. passed away at Hanover Terrace Health Care on Sunday Dec. 3, 2017.  "Louie" was born in Enfield N.H. to Paul and Louise (Morgan) Cote on May 26,1919. He attended school in Enfield. He volunteered for the Army in 1941. He served in Africa, Italy, and Sicily in the Medical Core. 

In 1946 he met and married Mavis Hastings of Grantham N.H. He worked in the woolen mill for a short time, and then became a woodsman. He worked in the woods until 1980. He was employed by Sessions Casket, and later the Lebanon School District. When he retired he loved tinkering in his garage and shed. 

He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed hunting with his nephews. He hunted up until he was 93, when he had to stop because it became too difficult to walk in the woods. 

He is survived by his wife of 71 years. His nephew Jim and wife Lynn. His great nephews Jamie, Jeremy, and Marc. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by all his siblings, Leon, George, Ernest Cote, Claire Newman, and Alice Crane.

Please join the family for calling hours Thursday Dec. 7 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. with a service beginning at 3 p.m. at the Ricker Funeral Home & Crematory of Lebanon.  Committal prayers will take place Friday Dec. 8 at 11 a.m. in the West Lebanon Cemetery.
