LACONIA, N.H. — The Lebanon-Stevens-Mount Royal boys hockey team won its first game Tuesday, downing Laconia-Winnisquam-InterLakes, 5-2, at Merrill Fay Arena.

The Raiders (1-10) scored the game’s first four goals during the first period’s final six minutes on two goals by Tyler Christian and single tallies by Maddox Castro and Keegan Dannehy. Castro, Dannehy and Easton Wykes earned assists.

The hosts scored the second period’s lone goal and pulled within 4-2 during the third stanza. Paddy Clancy concluded the evening’s offense with a strike off an Andrew Dannehy assist.

“We got too individualistic during the second period,” said Raiders coach Jim Damren. “Obviously, we haven’t played with a lead, let alone 4-0, so we had to reign the guys back in."

Evan George made 20 saves for LSMR, which hosts John Stark-Hopkinton-Hillsboro-Deering on Wednesday.

HANOVER — Sydney McLaughlin scored 34 points as the Bears took a 37-10 lead at halftime to defeat the Bobcats.

The junior guard hit a 3-pointer on the game’s first possession, setting the tone for a career night. Claire Starosta punctuated Hanover’s dominant first half with a buzzer-beating 3.

“We moved the ball well, played very good defense, shared the ball,” Bears coach Dan O’Rourke said. “We’re definitely progressing, but we’re struggling with putting 32 minutes together. We’ll get there.”
