Local roundup: Hanover girls lacrosse remains undefeated

HANOVER — Maeve Lee scored five goals and assisted on four more as the Hanover High girls lacrosse team stayed perfect with an 18-4 blowout win over Merrimack Valley on Wednesday.

Kali McDonnell added four goals for the Bears, and Maggie Higgins had three goals and two assists. Sadie Higgins contributed with two goals and one assist, Emily Perras scored twice, Mia Madden had three assists to go along with one goal and Ashley Cotter tallied once as well.

Hanover (6-0) sits atop the NHIAA Division II standings and hits the road to take on second-place Windham on Friday.

Pelham 14, Lebanon 4

PELHAM, N.H. — The Raiders fell to 1-4 with the loss and will host Concord Christian on Friday.

BOYS LACROSSEHartford 13, Montpelier 5

WHITE RIVER JUNCTION — Joseph Barwood struck for seven goals and an assist to lead the Hurricanes past the Solons.

Austin St. Peter scored twice, Blaine Gour had one goal and three assists and Ryan Spaulding tallied once with two helpers. Brayden Trombly had one goal and one assist, Cavan Benjamin added a goal, and Logan Caffrey and Bryce Soboleski each had an assist.

Hartford (7-0) is back in action Thursday at home against Lyndon.

Hanover 5, Merrimack Valley 4

HANOVER — Senior Jack Gardner scored three goals and sophomore Schuyler Clapp added two as the Bears rallied from a 3-2 halftime deficit. Junior Mateo Trimble, first-year Sam Bagatell and junior Jack Wilkinson each picked up an assist.
