HANOVER — The Hanover High girls lacrosse team’s tour de force to begin the season continued Monday with a 17-4 defeat of John Stark. Kali McDonnell scored four times and added two assists, giving her 16 tallies this season for the 3-0 Bears, who share the top of the NHIAA Division II standings with Windham.

Hanover has outscored its opponents, 55-6, thus far. McDonnell has committed to play at NCAA Division III Gettysburg (Pa.) College next year. The Bullets reached the national semifinals last spring.

Maggie Higgins had three goals and three assists for the visitors Monday. Sadie Higgins had three goals and an assist and Emily Perras had three goals. Hanover visits Timberlane (4-1) on Thursday.

Hartford 10, Woodstock 7

WHITE RIVER JUNCTION — Addie Cadwell scored seven goals, becoming the third Hurricane to cross the 100-goal mark in her career. The junior has scored 106 times as a high school player. Zoe Pfeiffer holds the school records for goals (153) and points (210).

Grace Laperle had two goals for Woodstock (0-2), which also received tallies from Fiona Piconi, Lila Beckwith, Claudia Shoemaker, Izzy Konijnenberg and Lily Gubbins. Audrey Emery made 12 saves for the Wasps, who host Stratton Mountain on Friday.

Nella Bowen, Audrey Rupp and Alice Piper each had a goal and Daiken Kovatch made seven saves for Hartford (6-0), which hosts Mount Mansfield (1-3) on Friday.

BASEBALLHanover 7, Pembroke 4

PEMBROKE, N.H. — Sam Sacerdote’s two-run double during the fifth inning provided the winning run and the Bears improved to 4-0. Jackson McBride had two hits and an RBI.

Hanover’s four-run fifth inning was timely, as the NHIAA Division II contest was ended by rain during the top of the sixth. The visitors had scored twice during that frame and had the bases loaded with no outs when the umpires halted play and the final scored reverted to the previous completed inning.

Pitcher Freddy Mierke entered the game with two outs in the first inning for Hanover, allowing three hits and two runs, one of them earned. He struck out two Spartans and walked one. Alex Boone earned the victory, allowed no hits or runs while striking out three foes and walking two.

Jo-Jo Drent had two hits for Hanover, which hosts Lebanon (2-1) on Friday.

SOFTBALLPembroke 21, Hanover 4 (5 innings)

PEMBROKE, N.H. — Emma Campfield, Abby Campfield, Clancy Killebrew and Lily Smith had the Bears’ hits and Kit Tullar walked twice.

Hanover (0-3) hosts arch-rival Lebanon (1-2) on Friday.
