Girls Soccer

Woodstock 2, White River Valley 1

Key players: White River Valley — Mackenzie Vesper and Cassie Armstrong led the Wildcats’ offense with 10 shots between them. Imari Taylor starred in goal with 14 saves. Julia Bowen was strong off the bench helping the defense.

Highlights: White River Valley found the net first on a quick restart when Vesper made a fast touch on the ball so Armstrong could strike it into the corner. Both teams could have won the crossbar challenge, each hitting the woodwork four or five times throughout the game.

Coach’s quote: “We had a lot of players step up and play a full game today. Started and finished strong. We had many opportunities in the last 15 to tie it up, and it just didn’t fall our way today. Great team effort!” — White River Valley’s Kim Prestridge

Records: Woodstock 1-2; White River Valley 1-3

Oxbow 2, Mill River 0

Highlights: River Gardner scored both goals for Oxbow. Willow Cook and Kenady Pinson each had assists. The Olympians had a total of 18 shots on net while and held Mill River to only three. Caleigh Bean was in net for Oxbow and had three saves. Oxbow travels to Missisquoi Valley on Saturday.
