Highlights: Hanover came out strong and used team speed to build a 9-0 lead at the half. The second half was focused on possession and team movement against a game Crusader side.

Hartford 8, Spaulding 1

Key players: Hartford — Owen McMahon, Colin Morlock, Sam Peckinpaugh, Tighe Hrabchak.

Highlights: Hartford opened the scoring within the first five minutes of the game on a goal by McMahon, assisted by Colin Morlock. Hartford doubled its lead on a free kick goal by Sam Peckinpaugh. Hrabchak scored the third goal on an assist by Nolan Morlock. Unassisted goals by Peckinpaugh and Cavan Benjamin finished the scoring in the first half. Hrabchak scored after the half from another Nolan Morlock assist. Hayden Pascarelli scored from a corner kick by Adam Peckinpaugh. The final Hartford goal came from Colin Morlock on another assist by Sam Peckinpaugh. Spaulding scored their lone goal on a free kick with 30 seconds left in the game.

Key players: Hanover — Roan Palm, Gabi del Pino, Schuyler Clapp, Noah Winchester, Sam Ames.

Highlights: Palm’s goal 15 minutes into the match was the only goal the Bears needed to collect their second win of the season. Hanover outshot Memorial, 18-5. Freshman goalie del Pino made his first career start and made a spectacular diving save to deny a shot headed for the top corner. He had three saves to collect the shutout. Senior defenders Clapp, Winchester and Ames led the defensive effort.

Highlights: Bishop Brady showed why it is one of the favorites to win it all in NHIAA Division III with a score of 89 in Monday’s match at Claremont Country Club. Stevens, which finished second with 64 points and picked up two wins over Kearsarge and Trinity, which tallied scores of 56 and 51, respectively.

Lebanon wins

Key players: Lebanon — Nick Pace

Highlights: Pace was the medalist shooting a 37, earning 25 points for the day as the Raiders won at Windham Country Club. Andrew Bernsden scored 19 points and birdied the last hole to win by one point. Ben Britton had 22 points and Braeden Rogers had 20.

Cross Country

Thetford’s Hayden
wins SVL race

THETFORD — Ava Hayden of Thetford Academy finished first among 72 runners at Tuesday’s Southern Vermont League 5K cross country race at Thetford Academy.

Hayden crossed the line in 21:31, more than a half-minute ahead of the second place finisher. Woodstock’s Izzy Cellini was fourth (22:19), and Anya Young of White River Valley placed fifth (22:23).

For the boys, Thetford’s Brady Sloop finished second (17:30) behind winner Nico Conathan-Leach of Brattleboro Union (17:21). Hartford’s Bennett Moreno was third in the field of 83 runners with a time of 18:03, and Woodstock’s Nicholas Cellini was 11th (20:00).

The Woodstock girls finished second behind Burr & Burton, and the Thetford boys were third.

Other notable finishes in the boys race included Elliot Brooks (14th) and Hugh Wendling (15th), both from Hartford, Wendell Durham (16th) and Miguel Kutter-Walker (21st) of Thetford and Owen Courcey (24th) and Zach Peterman (25th) of Woodstock.

In the girls race, Myra McNaughton of Woodstock was 15th, Ella Harvey of Thetford 16th, Pippa Shaw of Woodstock, 17th, Julie Bowen of White River Valley 19th, Geneva Durgin of Hartford 20th, Addison Richardson of Woodstock 21st, Madelyn Gibson of White River Valley 22nd and Sylvia Johnson of Hartfor, 24th.

Boys team scores: Burr & Burton 39, Brattleboro 60, Thetford 81, Hartford 95, Woodstock 119, Fair Haven 149, Springfield 188.

Girls team scores: Burr & Burton, Woodstock 57, Thetford 72, Hartford 95.

Hanover wins Souhegan Relays

AMHERST, N.H. — The Hanover boys took the top three spots in the Souhegan Relays on Saturday, and in the girls race, Hanover placed second, third and fourth with both squads winning the team titles.

The race format required each member of a three-runner team to run 4K. The Hanover boys’ A team of Andrew Valentino, Issac McNaughton and Will Hanaway won the race in a time of 42:09. Next was the Bears’ B team with Ryan Faris, Nandeesh Jain and Alexander Colins (42:14), and third place went Hanover’s Ben Groves, Ben Hourdequin and Isaac Novosad (42:46).

The girls’ A team of Megan Faris, Alice Bell and Iris Freeman finished second (50:57) behind race winner Pinkerton (50:29). Hanover’s B team of Lea Perreard, Millie Larrick and Natalie Wainwright was third (51:56), and the Bears’ C team of Aria Deeb, Mary Westrich and Ari Hirschler finished fourth (52:01)

Boys team scores: Hanover 6, Salem 24, Nashua South 27, Portsmouth 33, Souhegan 36, Merrimack 45.

Girls team scores: Hanover 9, Pinkerton 13, Souhegan 23, Merrimack 32, Portsmouth 35, Nashua South 50.

Currier third in Great Glen 5K

BERLIN, N.H. — Mascoma senior Gunner Currier was third among 81 runners and the Royals finished fourth in the Paul LeTarte Great Glen 5K race on Saturday.

Currier crossed in 16:46 behind second-place Josiah Conley of Concord (16:30) and winner Sully Sturtz of Keene High School (16:14).

With 10 teams competing, Mascoma finished with 117 points. Other scorers for Mascoma were Carl Russell (24th), Brody Albanese (34th), Karson Rogers (35th) and Trevor Maheu (39th).

Laethy Golden of Claremont Christian Academy was 27th and Joanna Behle of Mascoma was 29th in the girls race.

Boys team scores: Pinkerton 37, Keene 57, Merrimack Valley 111, Mascoma 117, Concord 122.
