WHITE RIVER JUNCTION — The top-seeded Hartford High football team moved into the VPA Division I semifinals Friday with a 48-7 defeat of eighth-seeded BFA-St. Albans at the Alumni Athletic Complex.

The Hurricanes (9-0) broke a 7-7 early in the second quarter when Brayden Trombly threw a 37-yard touchdown pass to Evan Lynds, starting the hosts on a run of 41 consecutive points.

The victory pits Hartford against fifth-seeded Middlebury (6-3) next week. The Tigers gave the Hurricanes their closest game of the season, a 35-21 Hartford road victory on Oct. 6.

Ezra Mock ran 20 yards for Hartford’s first touchdown. Nick Daniels ran for three touchdowns, and Brody Tyburski and Owen Mock also used their legs to reach paydirt.

Pelham 35, Hanover 7

PELHAM, N.H. — Pelham (8-0) used its 38th consecutive victory to eliminate Hanover (4-5) from playoff contention during the NHIAA Division II teams’ regular-seasson finale.

Hanover’s Jeffrey Vidou carried 14 times for 62 yards and a touchdown. The senior also led the visitors with six tackles.

The Pythons, NHIAA Division III state champions in 2020 and 2021, moved up to Division II prior to last season and again won a state title.

Woodstock advances

WOODSTOCK — Top-seeded Woodstock moved to the VPA Division III semifinals when Friday’s quarterfinal opponent, No. 8 Oxbow, forfeited due to an insufficient number of healthy players.

The Wasps will host No. 5 Mill River in a Friday encounter at Jim McLaughlin Field.

Trinity 42, Stevens 6

MANCHESTER — The Cardinals (4-5) missed the NHIAA Division III playoffs by a game, said coach Josh Duford.

Tyler “Tank” Christiansen ran for 125 yards and a touchdown but the visitors surrendered several long touchdown passes.

”We played hard all season but we had a super young team,” Duford said.

BOYS SOCCER Lebanon 5, Laconia 0

LEBANON — The top-seeded Raiders avenged a 1-1 draw against ninth-seeded Laconia with an NHIAA Division II quarterfinal victory.

Lebanon (15-1-1) faces fourth-seeded Oyster River (13-3) in Tuesday night’s semifinals at Nashua’s Stellos Stadium. The Raiders defeated the Bobcats for the 2021 division title, but the longtime rivals didn’t play during the current regular season.

Nick Brill had four assists against Laconia (8-8-1). Will Katz, Abe Pearson, Conner Chinn, Nico Pentella and Theo Vassilou each scored.

Conant 3, Mascoma 2

WEST CANAAN — The 11th-seeded Orioles (9-7-1) scored with three minutes remaining to end the Royals’ season in the NHIAA Division III quarterfinals.

“The second half was a story of missed opportunities,” said Mascoma coach Ryan Limero, whose team finished 14-4-0 and received 10 saves from Matt Favreau. “It’s a tough way to end yet another successful season.”

Tanner Moulton opened the scoring off a Rueben Densmore assist. He tallied again to give the Royals a 2-1 lead entering halftime. Conant converted a penalty kick for a 2-2 tie.

GIRLS SOCCER Windsor 4Danville/Twinfield 1

WINDSOR — Olivia MacLeay had two goals to lead the third-seeded Yellowjackets (14-1-1) to their 10th consecutive victory and past the Bears (6-7-2) in a VPA Division III quarterfinal.

Audrey Rupp added a goal and an assist, and Miah McAllister also scored. Lilly Keefe had an assist, and Sophia Rockwood made four saves.

Windsor hosts a semifinal Tuesday.

Rivendell 5, Richford 2

ORFORD — Harper Traendly had a goal and an assist to lead third-seeded Rivendell (10-5-0) past the 11th-ranked Falcons (4-11-1).

The Raptors visit second-seeded Leland & Gray in Tuesday’s VPA Division IV semifinals. The Rebels (11-3-1) won the teams’ regular-season meeting, 3-1, at Rivendell on Oct. 13.

Lily Murray had three assists and Colleen Underhill, Lyza Taylor, Lindsey O’Hearn and Shaylee Carter also scored for the hosts.

WHITE RIVER JUNCTION — Madison Barwood and Kamryn Brower each scored three goals to fuel the top-seeded Hurricanes (13-2) to a VPA Division II quarterfinal victory over the Eagles (8-5-1).

Maddi Willey added two goals and two assists, and Hailey Vanasse had an assist.

Hartford will host U-32 (12-2-1) in the semifinals. Hartford won the teams’ regular-season meeting, 4-0, on Oct. 9.

Woodstock 5St. Johnsbury 1

WOODSTOCK — Hannah Gubbins scored all five goals to lead the second-seeded Wasps (13-1-0) past the seventh-seeded Hilltoppers (6-0-1) in the VPA Division II quarterfinals.

Claudia Shoemaker, Quinn Stickney and Lexi Audsley had assists for defending division champion Woodstock.

Goalie Paige Stone made three saves for Woodstock, which faces third-seeded Spaulding (12-2) in the semifinals.
