Softball

Hanover 11, Lebanon 9

Key players: Hanover — Emma Campfield (3-4, 3 runs, triple), Kit Tullar (3-3, 2 runs), Sophie Wise (2-4); Lebanon — Catie Bachelder (2-3); Ava Kaercher (5.2 IP, 14 SO, 0 walks)

Highlights: Hanover scored in five of the seven innings on 10 hits. The Bears battled back from a 7-4 deficit going into sixth, when they exploded for six runs. All six runs came with two outs, including a triple by Emma Campfield that scored two. Lebanon scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh, but the Bears were able to hold on for the win. Jess Lobb pitched the complete game for Hanover with 10 strikeouts on the day.

Key players: Oxbow — Noemi Rosa, Braylee Phelps

Highlights: Rosa was the winning pitcher for the Olympians, pitching four innings. Anastase Bourgeois threw in relief to close the game. Oxbow collected 14 hits on the day. Phelps had three hits with a triple and two singles.

Baseball

White River Valley 9, Woodstock 8

Key players: White River Valley — Brayden Russ, Jacob Benoit, Zander Clark, Isaac Wimett, Carter Colson

Highlights: Benoit (1-for-4, 3 RBIs) came to the plate in the bottom of the seventh with White River Valley down by two and hit a two-RBI triple that was overthrown at third and scored the winning run as the Wildcats got the walk-off win for the second time in a week. Russ (1-for-4, HR, two runs) led WRV off in the bottom of the first hitting a home run in his first at-bat. Donovan Craven was 1-for-3, Ty Couture was 1-for-3 with a triple, and Wimett scored two runs on the day and played well in the outfield. Jayden Armstrong scored a run for White River Valley, and Finn Bailey and Clark also scored for the Cats. On the mound, WRV sent four different pitchers on the day. Clark threw 2⅔ innings, striking out three; Craven threw two innings, giving up one run, striking out two and giving up one hit. Colson got the win (his first varsity win), throwing the final 1⅓ innings.

Woodstock 10, Springfield 8

Key players: Woodstock — Vince Petrone, Ray Petrone, Riley O’Neal

Highlights: Vince Petrone (2-3, RBI, three runs) and O’Neal (2-3 , 2 RBIs) led the Wasps’ offense. Aksel Oates entered the game in the seventh to close it out and earn the save for Woodstock.
