BOW, N.H. — The Mascoma High wrestling program hit the road for the NHIAA Division III state championship tournament at Bow High on Saturday and returned home with three state champions on the bus.
Roman Farnsworth (152 pounds), Damian Nestle (195) and Owen McKinney (220) won their weight classes to earn state champion recognition. The Royals’ Tyler Mekus took fourth place in the 170-pound division.
Mascoma finished fourth as a team at the meet.
“These guys wrestled tough today,” said Royals coach Rick Simula. “It was a great day for Mascoma.
Plymouth claimed the team crown, with Winnisquam second.
MONTPELIER — The Hurricanes showed why they are an elite program this year in a come-from-behind victory that kept them undefeated at 19-0-0.
U-32 scored two first-period goals and added one early in the second for a 3-0 lead before Hartford stirred to life and scored four straight. The Raiders tied it early in the third but, 30 seconds later, Ozzy DeFelice got his second goal of the game for the win.
Hartford had the better of play, outshooting U-32, 46-18. James McReynolds tallied twice for Hartford, and Connor Tierney once. Lochlan Park had two assists for Hartford, and McReynolds, DeFelice and Blaine Gour added one each. Davey Bradley had 14 saves for Hartford.
Hartford winds up the slate aiming for the program’s second-ever 20-win regular season against St. Johnsbury on Wednesday at home.
WEST LEBANON — Everyone seemed to get in on the scoring act for Hanover, led by Curtis Rice and Van Bailey with two goals and two assists each.
Also on the scoresheet was Alex Rockmore (one goal, four assists), Jack Stadheim (1-2), John Hill (1-2), Casey Graham (1-1) and Matt Walsh (1-1). Spencer Lawe, Wyatt Seelig and Andrew Rudd had an assist each.
Luke Ives, Declan Flynn and Dill Eisendrath combined for 16 saves in the shutout.
“Great send-off for our seniors on their last home game as our offense exploded and our defense was stellar,” said Hanover coach Dick Dodds. “The passing and off puck play was magnificent. Everyone contributed, everyone did their job.”
Hanover (11-5-1) wraps up the regular season at Exeter on Saturday.
NASHUA, N.H. — Playing for the second time in less than 24 hours, LSM dropped to 10-4-1 and will play ConVal-Conant at home on Wednesday.
WOODSTOCK — The Wasps got goals from seven different players and remained perfect at 17-0-0.
Isabel Konijnenberg had two goals and Alix Livingston, Lily Gubbins, Sophia Yates, Gracelyn Laperle, Kassidy Haley and Hannah Gubbins provided the others.
Woodstock led, 2-1, after one period, upped that to 4-1 in the second and added four more goals in the third.
Woodstock finishes the regular season at Hartford on Wednesday.

SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. — Hartford scored three in the first and another three in the second to improve to 15-3-0.
Hartford travels to U-32 on Monday.
WEST LEBANON — Coming off a victory Friday night, LSK ran into the top team in the state. Paige Hoegler had 20 saves for Lebanon, which dropped to 8-7-0.
“It was our ninth game in 19 days and we played last night as well,” said LSK coach Mike Sheehan. “We played hard all game, but we didn’t have a lot left in the tank. Looking forward to getting some recovery and practice time this week.”
Lebanon is home to Souhegan on Wednesday.
LANDGON, N.H. — The seventh-seeded Cardinals fell in the quarterfinals of the NHIAA Division III playoffs, given the second-ranked Wildcats all they could handle.
Stevens finished at 12-5 and will graduate Molly DeRosier, Zahana Rice, Jenna Bonneau, Amaya Eitapence and Alexia Boisvert.
LYNDON CENTER, Vt. — The Olympians went up against the top-ranked team in Division II and had to do it with their second-leading scorer, Alexa Kosakowski, who was sitting out with ankle injury.
The Vikings went out in front by nine after one quarter. Oxbow kept it close and trailed by 10 at halftime but couldn’t match Lyndon, which hit 10 three-pointers after the break.
Maggi Ellsworth and Taylor Bean had 10 points each for Oxbow, and Abagail Carson scored nine.
Oxbow finished its regular-season schedule at 7-13.
DORSET, Vt. — After a win and a two-hour bus ride home Friday night from Craftsbury, the Eagles were back on the road Saturday morning for the 90-minute trip to Long Trail, where they again had a slow start before taking control.
Top scorer Hayley Goodwin had 21 points, and Rachel Horner-Richardson 14 points with nine steals.
A six-point halftime lead grew to nine after three quarters. MVCS put the game away by holding Long Trail to three points in the last quarter.
“We got off to a sluggish start and didn’t get comfortable in our offensive sets until deep into the third quarter,” said MVCS coach Chris Goodwin. “Once we started moving and stopped standing, things got better for us and we got some wide-open layups in our half-court sets. Hopefully, we will clean it up so we can make a run in the tournament.”
Mid Vermont finished the regular season at 12-8.
THETFORD — The 4-13 Lancers played above their win-loss record, draining 11 threes on the afternoon in an upset of Thetford.
The Panthers were cold in the early going, just 1-for-14 in the first quarter. Despite playing better in the second, Lamoille was “smoking from three- point range,” TA coach Eric Ward said, hitting sis of nine for the period.
“Lamoille played very well. Their coach said it was the best they have played this season, and the last two weeks the team came together,” Ward added.
Madi Mousley had 12 points and Charlize Brown 11 for Thetford.
“We were fatigued, and it showed at times,” Ward said. “I am so proud of this team and the effort they put into it.”
Thetford finished regular-season action at 10-8.
WHITE RIVER JUNCTION — Hartford was unable to match the third-ranked team in VPA Division II.
Beth Dobrich had 10 points to lead Hartford, and Ava Thorburn had six.
Hartford fell behind by five after one quarter, and Fair Haven added a few points to that lead over the next three periods of play.
Hartford finished the regular season at 8-11 and will prepare for the VPA Division II playoffs.
DORSET, Vt. — Neither team got going offensively on the day as the second- and third-ranked teams in VPA Division IV squared off.
“Game was a grind,” said WRV coach Mike Gaudette. “Their length and size bothered us, but I loved our effort. Hopefully we see them again in the playoffs.”
Austin Tracy and Braeden Russ led the Wildcats with 10 points each.
White River Valley (12-3) is home to the top-ranked and undefeated Rivendell Raptors on Monday.
WOODSTOCK — On a day when both teams were clicking offensively, it was the Wasps who had more firepower, erasing a 10-point halftime deficit and scoring 51 points in the second half.
The Cosmos did not look like a one-win team in the first half as they extended a one-point advantage after the first quarter to a 36-26 halftime lead. For the day, Springfield hit 12 three-pointers but Woodstock countered with 28 field goals from the floor.
“Springfield shot the ball very well all game,” said Woodstock coach Steve Landon. “They are very well-coached and played great today. I am proud of my guys for the second-half effort.”
Woodstock scored 27 points in the third quarter — including 10 from Declan McCullough, who finished with 22 for the game — and went up by two, 53-51. Springfield kept it close in the fourth but Woodstock pulled away
Cooper Dorsogna had 17 for Woodstock, and Alex Rice netted 12.
Woodstock (6-9) is at Windsor on Monday.
COLCHESTER, Vt. — The Yellowjackets concluded the VPA regular season ranked sixth out of 10 teams and will send three bowlers to the individual state championships on Saturday in Rutland.
Windsor was seeded second in the Baker round for their final match and knocked off the top team in the state, Burlington, 2-1, before falling to South Burlington.
Windsor lost the first match against Burlington, 197-179, then came back to win the next two, 155-148 and 202-162. South Burlington won the finals, 2-0.
Individual scores for Windsor: Patrick Kelley (184-190), Alyssa St. Louis (196-153), Avery Bean (181-133) and Bailey Eddy (147-172). Kelley, ranked second in the state, freshman St. Louis and Bean will bowl in the state championship. Kelley won the VPA individual state championship as a sophomore two years ago.
