THETFORD — A short stretch of the northbound lane of Route 132 north of Union Village will be closed intermittently starting this week as the town of Thetford begins repairing the slope below adjacent to the highway.
The work, which is to start on Monday, includes installing riprap to reinforce the roadway and to repair the shoulder and install new guardrails.
There will be temporary closings of the lane during construction, which is expected to last three weeks. Motorists are asked to drive carefully through the construction zone.
Anyone with questions should call Mary Ellen Parkman, Thetford’s zoning administrator and public works project manager, at 802-785-2922, Ext. 3.

The Norwich Planning Commission is holding two public hearings on the proposed 2020 Norwich Town Plan, which would replace a plan from 2018. The document helps guide town decisions on such matters as land use, environmental energy, housing, protection and quality of life issues.
Copies of the Town Plan are available for examination at the Planning and Zoning Department and Town Clerk’s counter in Tracy Hall, at the Norwich Public Library, and on the Norwich website.
The hearings will be held on Thursday, Jan. 9, and Monday, Jan. 13. Both start at 6:30 p.m. and will be held in the Tracy Hall multipurpose room.
