FORD, Vt. — Little Rivers Health Care on Tuesday invited people to join a waiting list to be called at the last minute when there are extra doses of COVID-19 vaccine available.

The Bradford-based health center said in a Facebook post said that being called might give people age 18 or older a chance to get vaccinated with their first dose sooner than scheduled to do so and without making an appointment. There is no cost for vaccination and Little Rivers administers the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine.

People can join the waiting list by visiting littlerivers.org and following the pop-up to add a name to the waiting list.

Little Rivers COVID-19 vaccination clinics take place on Tuesdays at 4628 Main St. in Newbury, Vt., and on Saturdays, alternating weekly at Oxbow High School in Bradford and Blue Mountain Union School in Wells River, by appointments made in advance on the VT COVID-19 Event Portal https://vermont.force.com/events/s/selfregistration.

Those without internet access can call 211 for help scheduling a vaccine appointment.
