LEBANON — Listen Community Services has named a Canaan resident as its next executive director.

Rob Roy McGregor, who spent 19 years as president and CEO of the Southern District YMCA in Exeter, N.H., will begin his new role on March 13. He replaces Kyle Fisher, who resigned in October after going on leave in September and leading LISTEN for six years. Richard Green, Listen’s board treasurer, has been serving as interim director since September.

“Rob’s nonprofit management experience and deep knowledge of the thrift store industry are a great fit for LISTEN,” Jay Benson, Chair of LISTEN’s Board of Directors, said in a news release. “We look forward to Rob’s leadership as LISTEN grows to meet the ever-increasing needs of our neighbors in the Upper Valley.”

McGregor has spent 30 years working for the YMCA and YMCA International. In 2021, he founded Wescott Farm, an organic farm and event space, in Canaan.

“LISTEN is a treasure of the Upper Valley, and I’m excited by the opportunity to lead an agency that means so much to its clients, staff, volunteers, customers, and supporters,” McGregor said in the news release.

“LISTEN is embarking on a new chapter in its continuing service to the community, and I look forward to meeting and working with all of our stakeholders to grow LISTEN and ensure that it remains a strong and vital organization serving our neighbors.”
