LEBANON — The mayor of Laconia, N.H., will start work as Lebanon’s new city manager in early September.
The City Council finalized their selection of Andrew Hosmer in an executive session Wednesday night before announcing the decision to the public.
Hosmer is expected to start after Labor Day, according to a news release from the city. He will be paid a starting salary of $170,000, Assistant Mayor Devin Wilkie said in a recording of the Wednesday night meeting.
“Throughout the process, Andrew demonstrated his extensive knowledge of the complexities of New Hampshire municipal government and the challenges facing cities such as Lebanon,” Mayor Doug Whittlesey said in the release. “His responses reflected thoughtfulness, a commitment to residents, open communication, and developing community-focused solutions.”
Hosmer has been the mayor of Laconia since 2020 and was a Democratic state representative from 2012 to 2016. He worked as the manager of AutoServ, a Tilton, N.H.-based car dealership from 1996 until 2017.
The council named Hosmer as the sole finalist for the job on July 3, but contract details were still being finalized. The council will formally appoint Hosmer during the August City Council meeting.
He replaces Shaun Mulholland, who announced in March that he would be leaving the city to serve as town manager for Londonderry N.H.
