NEW LONDON — Ausbon Sargent Land Trust has appointed a new executive director.

The organization’s board of trustees appointed Hans Carlson to the position, beginning Nov. 1, according to an Oct. 9 media release.

Carlson will replace interim Executive Director Andy Deegan, who has led the New London-based nonprofit since March.

The land trust protects property in 12 New Hampshire towns, including the Upper Valley communities of Grantham, New London, Springfield and Sunapee.

Carlson previously served as executive director of the Blue Hill Heritage Trust, a land conservation organization in Castine, Maine.
