HAVERHILL — In the town floor meeting on Saturday afternoon, voters rejected three petitioned warrant articles, including one that would have recommended the removal of Haverhill Town Manager Brigette Codling, according to Town Clerk Christina Hebert.

They also rejected two other petitioned articles on the town warrant, not supported by the Selectboard, which asked voters to appropriate $480,000 for the Woodsville Highway Department and $207,000 for the Woodsville Fire Department.

Voters did, however, support the municipal operating budget of $5.1 million, which is expected to result in a tax rate of $5.98 per $1,000 of property value or $1,496 on a home valued at $250,000.

At the school district’s annual meeting earlier in the day, voters approved all articles on the warrant as warned, according to School District Clerk Dawn Burleson. That included the school operating budget of $15.6 million and another separate article for a new teachers contract, which is expected to cost $287,000 in the first year.
