HARTLAND – Hammond Cove Shooting Range will open for the season on April 3.

The shooting range will be open Thursday to Monday weekly through mid-December every day except on state and federal holidays.

Users must have a Vermont hunting or fishing license or attend with a guest who does and should read the rules on the Vermont Fish and Wildlife Department’s website before attending.

Hammond Cove, located at the end of Ferry Road in Hartland, is an outdoor public shooting range operated by the Vermont Fish and Wildlife Department. It is free and features a six-port 100-yard rifle range, as well as a pistol bench. Because the range is outdoors, it is closed for the winter and was shuttered for this season on Dec. 14.
