Article of note: In Australian ballot voting, voters will be asked to approve a school operating budget of $47.6 million. The budget proposal increases total spending next year by $3.9 million, which would result in an estimated 7.5% increase in the school portion of the property tax rate. That’s equivalent to an additional $372 annually on a $300,000 property.

Contested races: Lannie Collins and Janelle Sahutski are facing off for a two-year seat on the Selectboard. Patrick Francis Danaher and Michael Hoyt are facing off for a three-year seat on the Selectboard.

Budgets and spending articles: Voters will be asked to approve a municipal operating budget of $19 million, of which $15.1 million is slated to come from taxes. That is up from last year’s $18.25 million budget, of which $14.56 million came from taxes.
