WRJ man pleads guilty to sex assault of a minor

WHITE RIVER JUNCTION — A 56-year-old White River Junction man pleaded guilty on Tuesday to sexually assaulting a girl under the age of 16 who was known to him.

David A. Kendall entered pleas to three felonies, including sexual assault and two counts of lewd and lascivious conduct with a child, during his change of plea hearing in Windsor Superior Court.

Kendall, who has been incarcerated since his March 2018 arrest, remains held at Southern State Correctional Facility in Springfield, Vt., pending his sentencing hearing.

Kendall’s attorney, Brian Marsicovetere, outlined his potential sentence during Tuesday’s hearing, which could be eight to 99 years in prison, all suspended, except for 2 ½ years to serve.

A date for his sentencing hearing hasn’t yet been set.
