HANOVER — Town officials are running two nonpartisan voter registration drives in the coming days in advance of the Nov. 3 election.

The first will be held Sunday (Oct. 18) at the Hanover Coop’s outdoor cafe space from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Hanover residents will be able to register to vote and request an absentee ballot, according to Sarah Schweitzer, one of the town’s supervisors of the checklist.

The other Hanover voting drive will be on Wednesday, Oct. 21, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the vestibule at Hanover Town Hall. Residents at that event can both register and cast an absentee ballot at that time.

To register to vote in New Hampshire, would-be voters must be 18 or older on Election Day, a U.S. citizen and domiciled in the town where they are seeking to vote. Required proof includes a driver’s license, college ID or other official ID that establishes identity and age; a birth certificate, U.S. passport or naturalization document; and proof of domicile, such as a lease or utility bill.

Anyone lacking such documents can still register by signing a “qualified voter” affidavit, under oath, in front of an election official, according to the Secretary of State’s Office.
