Hanover, Claremont, postpone Fourth of July celebrations

CLAREMONT — Due to thunderstorms in Tuesday’s forecast, Claremont and Hanover have postponed their Independence Day celebrations to July 5.

Claremont’s schedule will be as follows: Festivities take place beginning at 6 p.m. at Monadnock Park, 190 Broad St. Live music by Bassel and the Supernaturals, 50/50 raffle, vendors and food available for purchase. Fireworks, 9:30 p.m. claremontparks.com.

Hanover’s celebration will take place at 5 p.m. at the Dartmouth Green and will feature live music, along with food. The parade and other festivities scheduled for July 4 have been canceled. More information can be found at hanovernh.org/724/Annual-Old-Fashioned-Fourth-of-July-Cele.

UPDATE: Randolph had temporarily postponed its Monday fireworks display, citing the weather, but town officials announced Monday evening that the rain was letting up and the fireworks were back on. It was still set to be held at dusk at Farrs Hill, off Elm Street.
