Trick or Treat in Hanover

Halloween Celebration and Parade in Claremont

Halloween Costume Contest in Bradford, Vt.

Star Cat Books, 157 Main St.

Photos will be taken (with permission) and posted to the store’s Facebook page. The person with the most “likes” by midnight, Oct. 31, will win a $25 gift certificate to the store good for any book. Event also includes a raffle for prizes of children’s, young adult and adult books, candy, cider and a special visit by a “dragon.” Spooky stories will be read throughout the day. For all ages. Trick-or-treating begins in both upper and lower villages at 4:30 p.m. A jack o' lantern contest will be held at Barrett Hall at 5 p.m., and a spaghetti dinner fundraiser and haunted house (created by Newton School eighth graders and parent volunteers) takes place from 6-7 p.m. Spaghetti dinner: $5.
