Trick or Treat in Hanover

Halloween Celebration and Parade in Claremont

Oct. 31, 3:30 p.m.

Pleasant Street, downtown.

Trick-or-treating on Pleasant Street will be followed by a parade to Broad Street Park and the awarding of trophies for best costumes. Hosted by Claremont Parks and Recreation Department. For all ages. Free. 603-542-7019.

Kids: Halloween FunFest in Lebanon

Halloween celebration activities around Colburn Park include stories in the Great Pumpkin Patch, pumpkin painting, photos with favorite storybook characters, pumpkin bowling and more. Free. 603-448-5121.

Halloween Costume Contest in Bradford, Vt.

Oct. 31, 11 a.m.- 6 p.m.

Star Cat Books, 157 Main St.

Photos will be taken (with permission) and posted to the store’s Facebook page. The person with the most “likes” by midnight, Oct. 31, will win a $25 gift certificate to the store good for any book. Event also includes a raffle for prizes of children’s, young adult and adult books, candy, cider and a special visit by a “dragon.” Spooky stories will be read throughout the day. For all ages. Halloween Celebration in Strafford

Trick-or-treating begins in both upper and lower villages at 4:30 p.m. A jack o' lantern contest will be held at Barrett Hall at 5 p.m., and a spaghetti dinner fundraiser and haunted house (created by Newton School eighth graders and parent volunteers) takes place from 6-7 p.m. Spaghetti dinner: $5. Family Halloween Festivities in Thetford
