North Haverhill — The former executive director of a Hanover-based nonprofit that assisted military veterans has pleaded not guilty to a theft charge alleging she stole more than $24,600 from the organization.

Danielle Goodwin, of the now defunct Project VetCare, appeared in Grafton Superior Court in North Haverhill last month, where she entered the plea to the felony charge.

A judge released her on $15,000 personal recognizance bail.

Police arrested Goodwin in August and accused her of taking unauthorized control over the money.

She has a dispositional conference scheduled for Dec. 18 in the North Haverhill courthouse.
