Fire damages home in West Lebanon

Monday, July 15, 2019

LEBANON — Officials with the Office of the State Fire Marshal are investigating the cause of a fire at a home on Gilson Road in West Lebanon on Monday.

Lebanon Fire Chief Chris Christopoulos said the fire at 21 Gilson Road isn’t considered suspicious at this time.

The Lebanon and Hanover fire departments responded to the split-level home near the Hanover town line around 11:30 a.m. Monday for a report of smoke coming from second-story windows.

No one was home at the time of the fire, and no one was injured.

Firefighters quickly brought the fire under control. The fire started in a first-floor living area. Other parts of the home suffered “significant” smoke damage, Christopoulos said.

The home likely isn’t habitable until it can be cleaned, the chief said. The home was undergoing renovations at the time, he added.

Property records indicate the home is owned by John and Julie Glynn.
