Two Claremont city councilors not running for reelection

CLAREMONT — Seven of the incumbents on the City Council have filed for reelection with four of them facing challenges.

Incumbent councilors Nick Koloski and William Limoges are on the ballot for four at-large seats representing the entire city. Wayne Hemingway, Michael Huse Jr., Gary Savoie, Joel Tremblay, Kevin Tyson and John Woods-Giosi are the other at-large candidates. At-large incumbent Matt Mooshian is not running.

Brian Zutter is challenging incumbent Assistant Mayor Deb Matteau and Jonathan Hayden will try to unseat incumbent Ward III Councilor Jonathan Stone.

Incumbents Mayor Dale Girard and Ward I Councilor Andrew O’Hearne are running uncontested. Spencer Batchelder, now an at-large councilor, has filed for the Ward II seat with the incumbent, James Contois, not seeking reelection.

The filing deadline was Friday and the election is Nov. 7.
