NORWICH — The Family Place has selected Stephanie Slayton as its new executive director.

Slayton, who currently serves as executive director of TLC Family Resource Center in Claremont, will begin her new role Oct. 2, according to a news release from The Family Place, a Norwich-based parent child center.

“Slayton grew up in the Upper Valley and is now raising her own family here, so she understands the challenges that families face on both sides of the river and the opportunities we have to support a strong start in life for every child, in partnership with families,” according to the release. “She is ready to lead our staff in offering responsive opportunities and resources that help all families thrive.”

Slayton will replace Nancy Bloomfield, who has led the organization for eight years. Slayton has been the executive director of TLC since 2020, according to a news release from the Claremont-based nonprofit organization, which also has an office in Newport and is planning on opening another in Lebanon this fall. TLC is in the process of launching a search for an interim executive director.

“I am so proud of all we have accomplished together at TLC over the past three years,” Slayton said in the release. She noted that during her tenure the organization renovated its new home on 62 Pleasant St.

“We will miss having Stephanie as part of our team but are looking forward to having her as a colleague through our existing partnership with The Family Place,” TLC Board President Mariah Davis said in the release.
