SUNAPEE — Kirsten Nelson and Derek Hugger, both of Mont Vernon, N.H., have announced their engagement.
The bride-to-be is the daughter of Lars and the late Debra Nelson of Goshen, N.H. She graduated from Sunapee Middle High School in 2003 and earned a bachelor’s degree in environmental conservation from the University of New Hampshire in 2007.
She earned a master’s degree in natural resources and environmental science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2014 and is employed as an aquatic ecologist with the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services.
The bridegroom-to-be is the son of Craig and Janice Hugger, of Loveland, Colo. He graduated from Merrimack High School in 2002 and earned a bachelor’s degree in digital media from Southern New Hampshire University in 2006, where he authored and taught the school’s first 3D modeling and animation course. He is employed as a senior mechanical designer for Hollis-based medical product development firm Farm, and he also designs and sells plans for kinetic wooden sculptures.
A New Hampshire wedding is planned for next year.
